Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has paid a working visit to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to inspect ongoing maintenance works.

The Minister expressed satisfaction with progress so far, commending management and staff of the Ghana National Gas Company for their commitment. He urged them to maintain the momentum and complete the project within the scheduled timeframe.

“The Ghana Gas Infrastructure project is a key component of our energy structure. This scheduled shutdown is necessary to augment production and increase processing capacity. I am satisfied with the progress made so far and I urge you to keep the momentum and finish on schedule,” Mr. Jinapor said.

The maintenance works are expected to boost the plant’s capacity from 100 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) to 120 million standard cubic feet per day, strengthening the country’s gas supply and supporting industrial growth.

Mr. Jinapor assured the workers of government’s commitment, noting that both President John Dramani Mahama and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition remain fully supportive of the project.
