A flag raising ceremony has been held at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra to commemorate this year’s World Press Freedom Day.

The event which was organised under strict invitation in tandem with the COVID-19 public gathering rules was attended by a few media practitioners, leaders of media groups, representatives from UN bodies and the police.

In his remarks the UNESCO Country Director, Abdourahaman Diallo, emphasized the importance of the media in the development of any country and commended the journalists for the roles in the fight against COVID-19.
