Institutions to gain greater benefits under new national service digital reforms – Ruth Dela Seddoh

Institutions across Ghana that depend on national service personnel for administrative, teaching, health, and community support roles are set to benefit significantly from the National Service Authority’s new digital management platform, which officially goes live on Wednesday, 8th October 2025.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, the Director-General of the NSA, Ruth Dela Seddoh, said the new system was developed not only to fix technical issues in the old platform but to empower institutions with greater control, accountability, and efficiency in how they manage service personnel.

“This reform is a game changer for all user institutions. They can now make personnel requests, confirm attendance, validate reports, and access all relevant information directly from their dashboards without the delays and paperwork that used to slow the process”; Madam Seddoh stated.

Under the new digital framework, all accredited institutions—public, private, or non-profit—will be able to:

Submit requests for personnel based on their needs, qualifications, and locations.

Digitally approve postings and attendance, replacing manual documentation.

Access personnel records and duty reports in real time through their institutional accounts.

Verify certificates and service records instantly using QR-code technology.

Madam Seddoh said the new system’s intelligent posting algorithm ensures fair and efficient placement by matching personnel to institutions based on academic background, regional preferences, and institutional requirements.

“This approach guarantees that institutions get qualified and verified service personnel suited to their operational needs,” she explained.

Institutions have long faced challenges with delayed postings, inaccurate records, and difficulties in verifying assigned personnel. The new platform directly tackles these issues by integrating with the Ghana Card database and tertiary institutions’ graduation lists.

“This integration means institutions can trust that every person deployed to them is genuine. It eliminates  false records, and administrative loopholes that have frustrated employers for years”; she said.

Institutions will also benefit from instant, digitally generated posting letters, attendance reports, and certificates, cutting down bureaucratic delays and improving efficiency across the board.
