The Minority in Parliament has faulted the government for what it deems as it jumping the gun in cutting sod for a new Affordable Housing Scheme.
At a news conference in Parliament, the Minority Caucus pointed out that the House was yet to tackle the Committee’s Report on a 56.8million-dollar EPC/Turnkey Contract Agreement between the government and Douja Promotion Groupe Addoha for the implementation of the National Affordable Housing program and the revised redevelopment scheme.
Emmanuel Bedzrah who is a member of the Works and Housing Committee lamented why a new Housing Scheme is being embarked on at this time.
Another member, Sampson Ahi also said the side-stepping Parliament to cut the sod was unfortunate.
He stressed that the Minority were in principle not against the roll out of an Affordable Housing Scheme, but believed the right processes had to be followed.
