Kumasi: 20-year-old killed in fight over plastic chair

‎A young man, identified as Kwadwo Bright, has allegedly been stabbed to death after a fight over a plastic chair turned violent at Ashanti New Town in Kumasi.

‎The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, September 4, 2025, after a disagreement between Kwadwo and a friend escalated. Eyewitnesses said the two quarreled at a snooker centre over who owned the chair. Although the matter was initially resolved, the suspect later confronted Kwadwo and stabbed him in the neck.

‎Speaking in tears, Kwadwo’s mother, Georgina Yeboah, recounted the heartbreaking moment she arrived at the scene.
‎“I heard people screaming about a stabbing and rushed there, only to find my son in a critical state. The issue had reportedly been settled, but the suspect later attacked and stabbed him in the neck. Sadly, he died this morning,” she said.

‎According to myjoyonline, Kwadwo was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
