Saglemi Case: Trial of Collins Dauda and others adjourned to July 26

Trial of two former Ministers of Works and Housing Alhaji Collins Dauda and Kweku Agyeman Mensah and three others has been adjourned to July 26. 

The prosecution led by Principal State Attorney, Hilda Criag informed the Court that the first witness who is the Chief Director of the Ministry of Works and Housing is on a national assignment and could not make it to Court. 

Alhaji Collins Dauda and Mr Agyeman Mensah and the three others – a former Chief Director at the Ministry Alhaji Ziblim Yakubu, Executive Chairman of Construtora OAS, a Brazilian company which constructed the affordable housing project at Saglemi, Andrew Clocanas, and a director of RMS Nouvi Tetteh Angelo are facing trial for their alleged involvement in the 200 million dollars Saglemi Housing Project scandal. 

The accused persons are facing 70 charges.

 The State is expected to file additional documents by the next adjourned date as ordered by the Court.

 The Judge Justice Owusu-Dapaah will also hear some applications filed by Lawyers for some of the accused persons on the next sitting.

In a significant development, some NDC Members of Parliament (MPs) were in Court in solidarity with their colleague MP Allhaji Collins Dauda.
