The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners has outlined steps to self-regulate the industry to prevent the current predicament of joblessness of members while addressing environmental concerns.
The steps include elements of self-regulation, use of a software to optimise responsible mining and the use of the Association’s district and national task forces among others in enforcing laid down mining laws and regulations.
At a press conference in Accra, the Director of Operations of the Association, Emmanuel Yirenkyi Antwi entreated government to speed up modalities leading to vetting and verification of licenses as contained in the Road map.
