The Ghana Armed Forces has issued a strong warning to anyone planning attacks in Bawku, saying any assault on military personnel will be met with full and deliberate strength.

‎Speaking to the press on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, assured the people of Bawku and the entire country that the military remains committed to protecting lives and property. “We will not relent in our efforts to create a peaceful and secure environment,” the official stated.

‎The military sent a clear message to those causing trouble in the area, saying their actions will not be tolerated for much longer. “Anyone who attacks civilians or military officers will be treated as an extremist,” Gbetanu warned. “We will respond with all our strength, and we will make sure justice is done. There will be no hiding place for those who choose violence.”

‎The Armed Forces also appealed to the youth in Bawku to stop the violence and choose peace. “Your future does not lie in bloodshed,” he said. “It lies in learning, building, and helping your country grow.”
