The Pedia Yam Festival in Kintampo has come and gone, leaving behind a trail of vibrant memories and a renewed call for unity and peace. The festival, which celebrates the significance of yams in the local culture, was a colorful and lively affair, showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of the Mo Traditional Area.

Chiefs and community members came together, proudly displaying their traditions and history, as they danced to the grounds in their palanquins, mesmerizing the crowd with their spectacle.

Paramount Chief of Jama Traditional Area, Nnaa Prof. Lanjagor Karley II, used the occasion to urge unity and resource mobilization to drive development, citing the area’s untapped potential and notable sons and daughters.

The Paramount Chief of the Mo Traditional Area, Nnaa Kwaku Dankwa III, made a heartfelt appeal to the government to urgently fix the area’s bad roads and resolve the water crisis.

In response, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, assured the community that the government will resolve their concerns, calling on the people to guard the peace.

The festival was attended by several dignitaries, including the Bono East Regional Minister, Mr. Francis Owusu-Antwi, and the MCE for Kintampo North, Mr. Isaac Donkor.

The Pedia Yam Festival was a moment for introspection, unity, and moral rejuvenation, as the community came together to honor their royal ancestors, seeking blessings for a bountiful harvest and prosperity.
