Aggrieved National Service (NSS), Personnel have threatened to embark on strike or demonstration if their allowances are not paid.
Others say they will have no option than to exit the scheme for non-payment of arrears which dates back to October 2021 when the current cohort of Service Personnel started work.
The personnel are however pleading with the government to honour its obligation to avoid any industrial action.
The general consensus among most NSS personnel who spoke with GBC News is that the current 559 Ghana Cedis allowance is woefully inadequate.
For them, any delay in payments has serious implications on their ability to report to work and give off their best.
Reports indicate that all Service Personnel have not received any allowance this year, while others are owed since October 2021.
GBC News spoke to some of the affected personnel who insist that they will have no option than to embark on strike if the government does not pay the arrears owed them.
Interestingly, some NSS personnel say they are not affected by the non-payment of allowances because they have what they described as Plan B.
Meanwhile, Leadership of the personnel have confirmed that discussions are ongoing for a possible strike if their situation does not improve.
They say the government should intervene in order to ensure they receive their allowances to enable them to report to work without any challenges.
