Christian Council laments over spate of prophesies

The Christian Council of Ghana has expressed deep regret over the spate of prophesies mostly predicting death of some prominent personalities.

According to the Council, this is regrettable, slamming such prophets for dragging the name of Christianity in the mud.

Speaking at the swearing in of the New National Executives of the Evangelical Church of Ghana in Accra, General Secretary of the Christian Council, Rev Dr Cyril Fayose, said the Council will hold a roundtable with Christian groupings in the country, to fashion out ways of regulating it’s members.

He said the Council will not want government to step in to regulate its activities, hence the need for the roundtable.

The newly Sworn-in General Overseer of the Evangelical Church of Ghana, Rev Kwame Maxwell Liwangol, also said it is unfortunate the way some Pastors and Men of God, keep giving the religion a bad name. He said they should allow the Holy Spirit to lead them in all they do.
