A total of 261 students have been awarded various degrees and diplomas by the Accra Business School at its 14th congregation held in Accra.
This year’s convocation is the school’s first cohort of MBA graduates from their UK University partner, Wrexham University which started in February 2022.
Accra Business School is a prestigious Christian Business School accredited to offer globally recognized postgraduate, undergraduate, and professional programmes in a Christ-centered scholarly environment that integrates faith and learning.
The 14th congregation had the Theme: Alternatives to IMF Conditionalities for Economic Development. In all, 116 students were awarded with MBA by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, 26 students also had MBAs awarded by Wrexham University, 76 students were also awarded with MSc in Accounting and Finance among other recipients.
The General Manager for Citi FM and Television Mr. Bernard Avle congratulated the students for their latest milestone and urged them to use the knowledge acquired to transform the country.
He said Instead of them focusing on government programmes to create jobs he entreated them to strengthen the leadership of their companies to expand their employment scope.
Mr. Avle was optimistic that the caliber of leaders we train will determine the quality and quantity of jobs we create going forward, and the Accra Business School in it existence with over 18,000 leaders trained is at the forefront of that revolution.
He said the ethos of the university will create not just a profit-conscious student but also an ethical value-driven leader. Adding that this is what the country needs to transform it great agricultural, energy and human resource into the catalyst required to move from third world to first world in a generation.
Speaking at the ceremony the Founder and Chairman of the Accra Business School, Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei urged the graduating students to be innovative in creating jobs with focus on the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Bishop Titi-Ofei intimated that poverty can be reduced in the country by investing in education and skills training. He said by equipping our citizens with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce, we can create a more productive and prosperous society. He added that this could involve investing in vocational training programs, expanding access to higher education, and providing job placement services.
The President of Accra Business School Prof. Cedric Bell called on the graduating students to flag the flag’ for the Accra Business School, for Ghana and their home country. He said the school will soon launch doctorate programs and PHD with their international partners.
He reiterated that Accra Business School is committed to strengthening and upscaling the youth of the country to make contributions to grow the economy to make Ghana better.
Mr. Selorm Dzah was adjudged the overall best student. Accra Business School is an affiliate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the Awards for Training and Higher Education, Norwich, UK.
