The Conference drew many youth of the Methodist Church within the diocese together. The Bishop of the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey, was there to Grace the occasion and to open the conference as well.

Sister Gloria Korchoe Korley Glover, in her speech, said the church encourages the members to actively involve themselves in politics but in a godly manner. In conformity with the theme, she said leaders who live Christlike lives will not indulge themselves in ungodly acts like corruption at government institutions.

Also in her address, she noted that the MYF has put plans in place to empower the members economically and help them obtain financial independence. She believes this will help the fellowship be vibrant and successful.

Again, she charged MYF members to support the fellowship’s desire to win more souls for the expansion of the kingdom. Consequently, she pleaded with the church to provide adequate funding and support for this worthy course.

In an interview with Nation 1 TV after the event, the Bishop of the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey, encouraged the youth of the church to allow the Spirit of God to rule in them. He said the youth must be able to live as witnesses to Christ Jesus at any place they find themselves, especially in their work places.

Again, he advised the youth not to heed the pressure from the Western world on the LGBTQ+. He said this agenda is against the doctrines of the church and endangers population growth.

Finally, he advised leaders to educate themselves for responsible living. He urged them to be each others keeper, keep the environment clean and confront wrong doing.
