The Accra High Court has ordered the prosecution to submit all witness statements by May 20, 2025, in the ongoing criminal trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
The order, issued by Justice John Eugene Nyadu Nyante, was directed at the Office of the Attorney General. The judge expressed concern about the rights of the accused and urged the prosecution to expedite the trial process.
Mr Adu-Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, are currently on bail. The case is expected to return to court on May 26.
On April 30, 2025, Attorney General Dominic Ayine charged Mr Adu-Boahene and his wife with corruption-related offences involving millions of Ghana cedis. They are being prosecuted alongside two others—Mildred Donkor and Advantage Solutions Limited.
The charges include stealing, money laundering, defrauding by false pretences, and causing financial loss to the state. In total, 11 charges have been levelled against the accused.
According to court documents, Mr Adu-Boahene allegedly misappropriated about GHS 49 million (approximately $7 million) in state funds. He is accused of transferring the money from NSB accounts into his personal accounts, claiming it was payment for cyber defence software from an Israeli company, ISC Holdings Limited.
On May 2, the court ordered that Mr Adu-Boahene be held by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for seven working days to allow the prosecution time to prepare their witness statements.
