The Executive Committee of Africa Assemblies of God Alliance has met in Nairobi, Kenya. High on the agenda was the World Congress of World Assemblies of God Fellowship scheduled to take place in Accra in October, 2026.
The meeting further deliberated on progress made with the vision of the World Fellowship, christened MM33. This is to establish one million churches worldwide by 2033.
The African church is tasked to plant 300,000 churches by the target date. Also in line with the MM33 agenda, local Assemblies of God churches are to empower the youth to lead and pursue greater spiritual revival.
The Nairobi meeting, which was attended by church leaders from about 15 countries, was chaired by the Chairman of the Africa Alliance of Assemblies of God, Rev Jude Ngouwa who is also the General Superintendent of Gabon Assemblies of God. Present was the African head of the American missionaries in Africa, Rev Brent Teague.
The Executive Committee held a closed door meeting with a delegation from France Assemblies of God led by the General Superintendent and President, Rev Yann Ntoine.
The purpose was to deepen collaboration with the Africa Assemblies of Alliance in several areas including missions and leadership development.
Addressing the African church leaders, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Wengam, who is also the Vice President of the Africa Assemblies of God, Alliance, called on the church in Africa to prioritize prayer .
“We should invest more time in prayer to re-ignite the early church revival and empower the church for greater exploits, “ Rev Wengam added.
He further asked Christian leaders to practice good governance in church administration.
