President Akufo-Addo says Africa must build a resilient economy in the post covid era by creating a new entrepreneurial-led eco system, for skills building opportunities and self-sustaining economic development for its youth.

The President, who was speaking at the opening of a virtual annual meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB), also called on the Bank to champion the debt service suspension initiative and the G20 Common framework.

This initiative will help countries to direct their resources to fighting the pandemic and protecting lives and livelihoods.

Due to the devastating effects of Covid-19, the World Bank and the IMF are urging G20 countries to establish the Debt Service Suspension Initiative.
