The 2019 edition of GBC’s educative program “What do you know” has ended with an Agric Extension Officer, Courage Hatsu emerging overall winner.

Mr. Hatsu beat off competition from five contestants to win a cash prize of one thousand cedis.

Speaking at the Grand Finale of the show, the Acting Director of Radio, Yaw Opoku Agyapong appealed for sponsorship to sustain the program.

Mr. Opoku Agyapong on behalf of the Corporation, expressed appreciation to the Ghana Chamber of Mines for supporting the program.

He also thanked the quiz master for his long association with the program.

What do you know, Ghana’s most educative and longest running program on Radio and Television has been without sponsorship for a greater part of its existence.

Despite this, the program has continued to air on GBC for more than five decades.

This year’s final was described as unique because the contestants included two former champions.

Two of the six contestants were from the Boa-Amponsem Senior High School, while the rest included an Agric extension Officer and personnel from the University of Ghana and the Wisconsin University.

The contestants were marshalled by the longest serving quiz master, Dan Afari Yeboah who appeared in his iconic suit and bow tie.

His composure, experience and dexterity livened the show as contestants went head to head.

An Agric Extension Officer, Courage Hatsu emerged winner. He appealed for more support for the program.

“Infact What do you know has really help us, it has broadened our minds and we pray that more sponsors will come on board to push the program forward.”
