Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has replied President Akufo-Addo on the corruption risk assessment, carried out by the Special Prosecutor on the Agyapa Royalties deal, saying the transaction has been transparent from the onset.

Mr. Ofori-Atta made the argument in a memo following a directive from President Akufo-Addo to the Finance Ministry to return the deal to Parliament for further scrutiny after the Special Prosecutor report was sent to the Presidency.

The report raised red flags against the deal and insisted that a number of processes were deliberately sidestepped.

The six paged memo said the Ministry of Finance gives assurance to undertake all the necessary pre-requisite action required by law, from the procurement of transaction advisors, to the submission of transaction documents to the AG and Parliament for their review, input and approval.
