The Ameer and Missionary In-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, has applauded the decision to put up a national Cathedral. He said there is nothing wrong with government releasing land for the building of the national Cathedral.

The challenge however, lies in government’s tag of the project as one of its flagship projects for the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the country.

Speaking at the 39th Annual Convention of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ghana, currently underway in the Upper East Regional Capital, Bolgatanga, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, wondered why bungalows build for judges will be demolished to pave way for the building of a national Cathedral.

The Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, is among the three strong wings of the Mission. It is a youth wing and backbone of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Communities.

Being the youth wing, it was established by the second caliph to the Promised Messiah on the precept of inculcating in the youth love for Allah and that of the Holy Prophet Muhammed and to strive for the welfare of humanity.

Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, said the condition for achieving salvation from sin is to inculcate a feeling of shame and regret in one’s heart for such deeds.

He noted that each person’s conscience has the power to alert and forewarn, before every evil deed.

According to him, when one repents, begs for Allah’s forgiveness and bows down in repentance before Him, one should firmly resolve never to commit that sin again.

He said being a Muslim and an Ahmadi or a follower of the Promised Messiah only requires Ahmadis to live a life that bears a description of a Muslim, emphasizing that being a Muslim should not be identified only in long beards, but a belief in Allah and His messenger.

Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, believes the move by Christians to build a national Cathedral is a step in the right direction.

He however expressed worry over the perceived impression that government is the implementer of the project.

He called on government to tread with caution about the matter, noting that if care is not taken and an avenue for biases is created, the biases will develop into hatred among the citizenry.

The Annual Convention of the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ghana is being attended by three thousand, five hundred (3,500), participants from parts ofcountry.
