The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Rosemond Brown also known as Akuapem Poloo challenging her 90 days’ custodial sentence.

She is therefore to serve the remaining jail term handed by the Circuit Court. She requested the Court to set aside the custodial sentence and replace it with a fine, but the court said the 90 days’ Custodial sentence imposed on her was not excessive and harsh.

The Court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey said the decision of the Circuit Court is right and the High Court will not interfere with it.

Justice Aryeetey also ordered her son to be given to any competent person in the family to take care of.

Akuapem Poloo was charged with three counts of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy.

She displayed her naked picture with her son on social media in June, 2020, and had earlier pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
