Akufo-Addo announces schools at all levels will reopen

President Akufo-Addo has announced the reopening of schools at all levels in the country, giving assurance that it is safe to do so. Schools at the basic level including Kindergartens will reopen on 15th January.

They have been closed down since March, 2020 after Ghana recorded its first case of Covid-19.

President Akufo-Addo, in his latest update on measures taken to defeat the Coronavirus, announced an end to the double track system for first and third year SHS students.

The President extended the free electricity and water for more than one million lifeline consumers for another three months. The move, he said is necessary to mitigate the impact of the virus on low income earners.

President Akufo-Addo announced the revision of existing COVID-19 guidelines on international travel, where passengers who test positive will undergo a seven-day mandatory isolation and treatment at a designated health facility.
