President Akufo-Addo says work on more than 100 road projects ongoing in Upper West

President Akufo-Addo says the declaration of 2022 as a Year of Roads, is not rhetoric but a reality.

He said in the Upper West Region 18 road projects have been completed, while 110 others are ongoing.

President Akufo-Addo was speaking on GBC’s Radio Upper West as part of his two-day working visit to the region.

Whilst serving notice of the re-packaging and award of the contract for the construction of the Wa-Tumu Road, the President stated that the Han-Tumu section of the Road has been re-scoped and awarded to five different contractors and will be completed in 24 months.

Again, he noted that for the first time in the nation’s history, the Wa-Hamile Road has been tarred.

President Akufo-Addo said about 3,000 soldiers have been recruited and trained since 2021 and 4,000 officers and soldiers will be recruited annually until 2024, to beef up the strength of the Armed Forces.
