A Gender Activist and Principal of the Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Dr. Grace Adasi says it is not surprising that women constitute a larger portion of the population.
Statistics from the 2021 National Population and Housing Census indicate that females make up 50.7% of the population while males constitute 493%.
Dr Adasi said the time has come for Ghana to allow women to take up more leadership positions because they are the most affected by decisions taken by leaders in the country.
‘’If there are more women then we will need more of them to take up leadership positions that deal with issues about women clearly. There is improvement and very soon we will get there. It is not surprising at all as we are being told that women are more than men in the country,” Dr. Grace Adasi said.
