Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle.

The Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Cape Coast, Most Reverend Gabriel Palmer-Buckle is receiving treatment at the Ga East Treatment and Isolation Centre in Accra after testing positive for COVID-19

In a video circulating on social media, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle shared his experience of managing and surviving covid-19 for five days. He therefore encouraged others who have contracted the disease to keep faith in the Lord and believe in his healing.

Archbishop Palmer-Buckle advised Ghanaians to as a matter of urgency remember frontline health workers in their daily prayers as they are overwhelmed in leading the country’s fight against the second wave of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens at the University of Ghana has revealed that the new COVID-19 strain from the United Kingdom is currently driving new local infections in Ghana. The Centre arrived at this conclusion through its January sequencing of samples from its sites across the country.
