Arise Ghana demonstrators present petition to Ministry of Finance

Members of Arise Ghana — a pressure group demonstrating against what it terms to be the “excruciating economic hardships” brought about by the “persistent and astronomical hikes in fuel prices,” have presented a petition containing their grievances to the Ministry of Finance.

Among their grievances were the need for government to take pragmatic steps to scrap the Electronic Transfer Levy, reduce inflation, curb the deteriorating Cedi and address the unemployment issues, among others.

Bernard Mornah spoke on behalf of the group.

The Deputy Ministers of Finance, Abena Osei Asare and Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah received the petition on behalf of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

From the Ministry of Finance, the group will move to Parliament House where they will meet the leadership of the House and present their final petition.
