Asogli State hints of deploying warriors to quell insurgencies

The Asogli State Council in the Volta Region has announced that it will deploy warriors within the Ho Municipality to augment efforts by the security agencies efforts to protect residents and its territory against attacks by separatist groups.

The move was disclosed by the Warlord of Asogli, Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu on behalf of the Agbogbomefia of Asogli and President of the Asogli Traditional Council, Togbe Afede.

This follows an arson allegedly perpetrated by the members of the Western Togoland separatist movement at the STC terminal in Ho yesterday (September, 28, 2020).

Yesterday’s attack was preceded by an attack at the Aveyime and Mepe Police Stations and officers on duty as well as blockade on major roads that lead to the Volta Region on Friday (September 25).

At a press conference in Ho, the Warlord of Asogli, Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu who is also the Dufia of Ho Dome condemned the recent attacks allegedly by the secessionist group saying it is criminal and a threat to the peace and development of the region.

He urged government to conduct investigations to arrest perpetrators to face the rigours of the law.

Togbe Howusu also advised the leadership of the Western Togoland separatist movement to present their grievances to the appropriate quarters for redress rather than engaging in acts of violence.
