The Assembly Member for Tagbato Electoral Area in the Klikor Traditional Area within the Ketu South Municipal Assembly has petitioned the Offices of the MCE, Maxwell Lugudor, and The Member of Parliament, Abla Dzifa Gomashie to fix the deplorable roads to avert disaster.
The petition is titled; “Appeal for Urgent Attention on Agbozume Police Station Anlo-Afiadenyigba Feeder Road”, and signed by the Assemblyman for the area, Francis Doe Tamakloe, dated 14th October 2022 and copied gbcghanaonline.com said, “on behalf of the people of Tagbato Electoral Area (Tsavanya, Kpordoave, and Akaglakorpe), I write to passionately appeal to our Hon. MP Abla Dzifa Gomashie MP for Ketu South and our Hon, Maxwell Lugudor MCE for Ketu South Municipal to come to our aid and rescue us with emergency, by filling (not constructing) if not all some of the big portholes with trips of gravel on the feeder road from Srohume through Kpordoave and Tsavanya to Anlo-Afiadenyigba”.
The population of the three Communities (Tsavanya, Kpordoave, and Akaglakorpe) is about one thousand three hundred (1,300) with two Basic Schools Akatsavakpor Basic Schools: A and B, are noted for commercial Vegetable Farming, Kete/Kente Weaving, Salt Mining and Petty Trading.
According to him, the feeder road that connects the three Communities and Agbozume, the nearest major town is in a very deplorable State before, during, and after the rainy season.
The Assemblyman who is a Teacher at the Akatsavakpor Basic Schools added that the students and some of his colleague Teachers including the Head Teachers who come from Klikor and Agbozume “are facing challenges to have the shortest road accessibility to school. Because of the menace, they have to travel through the major road to Anlo-Afiadenyigba before coming to school every day which outrageously increases the cost of their transportation and other risks”.
The Assemblyman further told terrible stories when our reporter visited him at the school premises and stressed that “the vehicles that try, get stuck in the mud until a tractor pulls them out on a higher charge. The same thing happens to our fathers and mothers who use the road to transact business at Agbozume market”, he explained.
