Bakers have expressed concern about the increasing cost of ingredients for making bread. They have consequently signaled their intention to adjust upwards, the price of bread to meet the bakery costs.
According to some bakers at Bibiani in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, they will run at a loss if they do not adjust their prices upward.
Pastor Alexander Gyebi Quarcoo is the Marketing Manager of ‘PM 1 Bakery’, the largest bakery in the Region.
He said the pressure is real and expressed worry over the baker’s inability to meet set targets due to the cost of inputs, such as flour.
