Ban on drinking spots, tourist sites lifted while beaches, cinemas and nightclubs remain closed

President Akufo Addo has expressed optimism in Ghana’s fight against Covid19. He said data show that Ghana is on the path towards limiting, containing and defeating the Virus.

In his 14th televised address to the Nation last night, President Akufo Addo was impressed with the recovery rate which is 89 point five percent of positive cases. Ghana’s case count is now 32 thousand 969. Twenty-nine thousand,494 persons who contracted the virus have also been discharged.

Current Active cases in the country stand at three thousand 307. He noted that the rate of death is zero point five to positive cases attributing this to the grace of God and prudent measures put in place by the government.

President AkufoAddo commended the Private sector for the completion and handing over of the 100 bed Ghana’s first infectious disease centre at the Ga East Hospital.

President Akufo-Addo announced the gradual easing of COVID 19 restrictions as tourist sites across the country will now be allowed to open.

Tourism destinations, open-air drinking spots which have been closed since the spread of the virus can open with enhanced hygiene protocols being enforced while places such as pubs, nightclubs and cinemas remain closed.
