Vice President Bawumia on Special assignment in Italy

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has left the country for Italy and the Vatican on a working visit to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

The Vice President who left last night is scheduled to hold bilateral talks, including discussions with Pope Francis. The Pope’s message of love, mercy and inclusion, devoting himself to promoting peace, unity and mutual understanding, has been embraced around the world.

In a statement signed by the Spokesperson to the Vice Vice President, Dr Gideon Boako said these diplomatic visits are part of Dr. Bawumia’s efforts to strengthen connections with the global community adding that his engagements will highlight the common principles of peace, justice and solidarity to guide all into a better future.

The Vice President who was accompanied by some government officials is expected to return to Accra Thursday, April, 25, 2024.
