Addressing the gathering on the theme: “Working Together, Bouncing Back Together”, the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive recounted the sterling leadership qualities of Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah whose landmark projects including the Akosombo Dam and the Tema Habour among the establishment of numerous manufacturing industries across the country brought bin kits wake rapid socio-economic development.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo in the face of Covid-19 and its resultant effects was keen complementing the development effort of the late President with the introduction of the E-Levy policy aside the economic projects.

He encouraged Ghanaians to embrace the policy and be part of the government’s economic recovery strategy.

The event was spiced with a spectacular gymnastic display by students of Bolgatanga Preparatory School.

The short , but colourful exercise also saw some taekwondo skills involving female students to show their skills in physical toughness and self defense.

There was a presentation of awards to deserving schools. Bolgatanga Girls Senior High emerged as the best school in the Senior High School category followed by Bolgatanga Technical with Sirigu Senior High occupying the third position in the senior.

In the primary category, Excel Plas Academy came third followed by Methodist Primary with Bolga Experimental emerging the first position in that manner.

The JHS category was won by St John’s Catholic School. Nyariga Done girls which is the only Junior High School for girls in the region came second with Great Victory Academy clinching the third position.

They were all presented with certificates of excellence.
