Bi-partisan committee instituted to probe Sputnik-V vaccines procurement

Parliament begins debate on State of Nation Address 

Parliament of Ghana.

Parliament has adopted a private member’s motion calling for the establishment of a bipartisan committee to investigate the procurement contracts between the government of Ghana and Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum and one other for the supply of Sputnik – V COVID -19 Vaccines and submit a report for the consideration of the House.

The motion was sponsored six minority MPs, comprising Haruna Iddrisu,  Mohammed – Mubarak Muntaka, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Dr. Sebastian Ngemenenso, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane and Ernest Norgbey.

The motion was subsequently moved by the minority leader Haruna Iddrisu and seconded by the ranking member on the health committee Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

The House unanimously adopted the motion agreeing to the setting up of a Nine – Member ad-hoc Committee to investigate the matter.
