The Internal Auditor of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, Mr Ohene Kofi Akowuah has  beseeched revenue collectors of the Assembly to establish good working relationship with rate and toll payers in the Municipality.

He urged them to be polite, courteous and professional when dealing with clients to encourage voluntary payment of tolls, rates and fees required to finance programmes and projects of the Assembly.

Mr Akowuah said this at a sensitisation programme with revenue collectors of the Assembly,  with the aimed at addressing challenges  the revenue collectors go through.

The programme forms part of the Assembly’s strategic revenue mobilization drive  and aimed at improving its revenue generation.

According to Mr Akowuah, the Assembly now required more resources to execute programmes and projects and charged the revenue collectors to work extra hard to meet the financial commitments of the Assembly.

He underlined the need for the revenue collectors to educate tax payers on how their taxes were used to fund various social amenities for their benefit.

He praised them for their dedication over the years but urged them to redouble their efforts to rake in more revenue for the Assembly.
