The Central Regional PRO of the Ghana Police Service, Irene Oppong, says the Police have received information that the body of Ama Baduaa which went missing on August 15, 2021, has been found.
The Police together with the District Chief Executive, Ohene Andoh and some elders of the town went to the scene, outskirts of Bereku township to see for themselves.
“Assin Praso Police received a report of a missing person, Ama Baduaa, 65 years on August 15, 2021, and as investigation was ongoing on the 16th of August 2021, the same police station had information that the body of the missing person, Ama Baduaa, was found at the outskirts of Bereku Township. The District Commander together with Police officers proceeded to the scene and the body, which was divided and buried, was identified by one Kojo Ackah, the son of the deceased, as his mother, Ama Baduaa. The body was exhumed and sent to Assin Fosu Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.’’
Madam Irene Oppong appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator of the crime.
She also advised that people move in groups or pairs especially at night and inform family members of their locations at any given point in time to ensure their safety and protection.
