Residents of Bole in the Savannah Region are living in fear, following series of armed robberies that has led to the deaths of three persons in the last two months.

The last victim, Stephen Baakaweh, a mobile money dealer, was shot and killed on December 27th last year.

Prior to this incident, three other persons were shot in separate incidents, with only one person surviving.

These incidents have not only evoked a feeling of insecurity among residents. It has also caused anger among them.

Residents are therefore calling on the police to intensify their efforts to arrest the situation.

The Vagla Youth Association in the Bole district has added their voice to the issue.

The association has issued a statement calling on the police and the Savannah Regional Security Council to conduct investigations into the killings to bring the perpetrators to book as well as restore the confidence of residents.

The Bole district and its environs has become a hot bed for armed robbery incidents, with frequent attacks on passengers traveling between Wa and Tamale as well as Wa and Techiman.
