BOST urged to consider exportation of petroleum products

Deputy Minister of Energy Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has urged management of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation, BOST to consider taking up the export of petroleum products.
This according to him will help improve their financial position rather than dumping products meant for export on the local market.
The Deputy Minister made this call at a swearing in ceremony of the new Board chairman of BOST, Ekow Hackman and a new board member, Mrs. Comfort Aniagyei.
The Deputy Minister disclosed that in line with the vision of government to make Ghana the petroleum hub in the sub region, government intends to invest in a lot of pipeline infrasturcture in the country.
He said if the petroleum pipelines are properly developed it will help address the issue of loss, the cost of transportation and also diversion of petroleum products.
Dr Adam called for a cordial relationship between the board and management of BOST to play its strategic role effectively.
