A 35 year old man has been arrested for impersonation by the police in Derma in the Bono-Ahafo Region.

The man, Obeng Yeboah , who is believed to be from Takoradi claimed to be a Detective Sergeant stationed in Koforidua.

The Bono-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Augustine Kingsley Oppong, confirmed this in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana.

He said, about 10:30am last Wednesday, some concerned citizens of Derma saw the man and suspected him to be an imposter and informed the Police. He said, upon interrogation, he confessed not to be a Police Officer.

Chief Superintendent Kingsley Oppong, sounded a note of caution to the public to call the Police emergency number 191 or 18555 when they suspect anyone of being an imposter as the Police is on high alert to arrest such people.
