Burial service for mother of former President Rawlings held at forecourt of State House

The remains of Madam Victoria Agbotui, mother of former President Jerry John Rawlings have been conveyed to Dzelekope in Volta Region after a state funeral at the forecourt  of the state house, this morning.

The funeral was attended by the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Ministers of States, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and Parliamentarians.

A delegation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was led by the Vice Presidential Candidate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang.

In a tribute to the mother, former President Rawlings, described Madam Agbotui as a disciplinarian, tough and  a determined individual who was also industrious.
