A workshop aimed at helping Accra’s vibrant entrepreneurial community grow their businesses has taken place in Accra.

The event, a series of monthly marketing workshops, was held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. The objective of the workshop was to help local entrepreneurs find practical marketing tactics to grow their businesses.

Speaking in an interview, a Marketing Entrepreneur and organiser of the Buro Marketing Workshop Series, Letitiah Obiri, described the event as successful, saying “everyone learned something”.

“I think that this event has been a great success. We had a lot of attendees come. We had a great panel discussion. We had a lot of good questions of the panelists. The panellists will also be able to share their own events. Now we’ve had an amazing time where people are networking, connecting, and meeting other entrepreneurs to share business collaboration. So I would say this event has very much met my expectations. I’m very pleased with the success rate. I’m glad everyone has enjoyed themselves. Everyone has learned something.”

She expressed her passion for helping young entrepreneurs. She also underscored the importance of engaging and helping young entrepreneurs trying to change the world.

“I’m very passionate about helping young entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and business students grow their businesses, find new ways to really find new customers, and ultimately help to improve the economy and their community, and hopefully my skills will help them do that.”

“I would like to meet more businesses, young entrepreneurs, who are trying to change the world, trying to change tech to use tech, especially tech, to help improve their community, improve their lives, and improve the lives of everyone around them. I really want to engage with young people who are now studying who are doing degrees who are graduating and are looking for jobs or internships. I want to be able to help them grow, help them really develop and help them become better working adults who can go out into the world and develop their careers.”

A panelist and CEO of Ford Communications, Lakeshia Marie, called for a paradigm shift in mindset about entrepreneurs doing business in Ghana.

“The way forward for entrepreneurs doing business in Ghana is about shifting the mindset. When it was shared that Ghana is really a hub of opportunities, people in the audience were shocked. This mindset of being able to see opportunity right where you are is essentially the way forward in terms of understanding your environment, taking advantage of what is right here under your feet and right here within your reach.”

For his part, the CEO of EMI Group Africa, Ekow Mensah, who participated in the workshop, asserted that the workshop was great and full of insight.

“From today, I have really learned that I need to be able to be more innovative and creative about how to put my content out there to not only capture people’s attention but to convert it into business and to ensure that I am getting the best out of my social media and content marketing effort.”
