The Central Regional Department of Gender has been engaging members of the communities in the region on Sexual and Gender based violence, annually for some time now.
This year’s outreach programme targets Adolescent school children in the districts. The Assin South District is the first beneficiary of the outreach programme.
The Adolescent girls at the basic school level were educated on how to take care of themselves when they reach the age of puberty. They were also taken through ways of protecting themselves from early sex, early marriage and its accompanying problems, teenage pregnancy and from being school dropouts.
Mrs. Kpe encouraged parents to play key roles in educating children at the Adolescent age on issues regarding their Sexual and Reproductive Health.
