C/R: FAO introduces five crop varieties to over 80 farmers

The Food and Agriculture Organizations, FAO, has introduced five crop varieties to more than 80 farmers in the Central Region.

It is to support government’s Planting for Food and Jobs initiative.

According to FAO, the new crop varieties responded well to the environment of the Central Region than other regions.

At a demonstration exercise, the farmers were taught how to cultivate the new varieties and the economic and nutritional benefits of growing them.
