Media delegation from Ghana visits North Sichuan Medical College in China

A 19-member media delegation from Ghana’s Ministry of Information and it’s agencies have visited the North Sichuan Medical College in China. Led by the Deputy Director of the China International Publishing Group Training Center, Mr. Li Hengtian, the delegation interacted with management of the College and some African students who have been offered various scholarships by the Chinese government to study at the North SiChuan Medical College.
Five Ghanaian students are beneficiaries of the scholarship.
The Ghanaian Media delegation is made up of officials from the Ministry of Information and media professionals from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Ghana News Agency and the Information Services Department.
The delegation is in China for a seminar on China-Ghana media landscape and how to promote the Win-win Cooperation between China and Africa.

According to Mr. Li, the programme is part of efforts to make China’s “Opening Up Policy” fruitful.
Addressing the delegation, the President of the North SiChuan Medical College, Dr. Du Yong, said many African students have graduated from the college since its inception in 1951.
He emphasised that more than 30 Ghanaians have graduated from the medical college, and commended the Ghanaian students for being the best among the foreign students.
The Acting Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Information, Kofi Ohene Benning who led the Media delegation, reminded the African students of their mission to excel academically, graduate and come back home to impact society. He also advised them to be law abiding while studying in China.
The African students at the North SiChuan Medical College shared their rich and exciting experience in China with the Ghanaian Media Professionals Delegation.
