The Ghana National Fire Service says, the Tema Metropolis recorded the highest number of fire outbreaks on Christmas day. The outbreaks which it says includes commercial, vehicular as well as domestic fires saw about 44 of such accidents recorded nationwide.
Assistant Divisional Officer II, Alex Ken Nartey, of the Public Relations Department of the Ghana National Fire Service, who spoke to George Sappor attributed the high incidence of fire outbreaks during the yultide, to lot of activities which sometimes leads to forgetfulness among the populace to be fire conscious.
TheFire Officer encouraged Municipal and District Assemblies to make land available for the service to set up offices within their jurisdiction.
This he noted will go a long way for the Fire Service to swiftly deal with fire outbreaks in record time.
