The Zone 5 Youth Ministry of the Church of Christ has organised a health walk and screening exercise for residents in the Ga East and West districts.
The program, held at Pokuase on September 3, was aimed at looking at the strength level of the youth, give members the platform to interact, have fun, and network with others within the zone.
The event formed part of activities to mark Youth Month celebrations in 2022. There were also other activities like aerobic exercise, indoor games, Kenkey party, etc.
In an interview, a member and patron of the Zone 5 Fellowship and minister of Medea Church of Christ, Philip Kwabena Acheampong, highlighted the need to think about the physical side of the church.
“Today we have organised this programme to enhance the youth. When you have youth, you have the future, and energy and strength are two things that you need to know. Worshipping God, we have both spiritual and physical. Once we are dealing with the spiritual side, we also need to think about the physical side. The youth are our future. How are they strong? What is their strength level? How do you want to maintain it in the future? If they are sick, there is no way we will be able to achieve the future.”
“We are checking for Hepatitis B, HIV and AIDS. We have professional doctors among us to help us. Our aim is to look at the strength level of the youth.”
In his message, the Youth President of Race Course Church of Christ in Greater Accra advised the youth to seek the kingdom of God.
“My message to the community is to get on board. The whole purpose is to get the whole community into the Christian kingdom so that we may have eternal life for our individual lives when the last day comes. My advice to young people is to seek God’s kingdom first, and everything else will follow. The way forward for the Church of Christ is to expand to get people.”
Zone5 youth ministry is an amalgamation of churches of Christ in the Ga East and West districts with the aim of spreading the Gospel.
