It was all joy in some churches GBC News visited in Accra as Ghanaians welcomed the year 2022 with watch night services. This joy intensified at the stroke of midnight with prayers, and thanksgiving amidst some great fireworks.

Despite growing concerns about the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country all churches visited were filled to capacity but observed strictly all the covid-19, safety protocols.

At the International Central Gospel Church, at Darkuman, the resident Pastor, Mark Otu -Danso, challenged Christians to set themselves apart from sin in 2022, to enjoy God’s bountiful blessings in their lives.

He said the church has declared 2022, a year of increase, and encouraged worshippers to serve God diligently to experience such growth.

At St Mark Methodist Church also at Darkuman, the Superintendent, Minister, Very Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Yalley, advised Christians to consecrate themselves in the new year to enjoy God’s blessings.

At the First Love Center of the Light House Chapel International, at Lapaz, in Accra, the Founder Bishop Dag Heward Mills, said 2022 is a year of “seed time and harvest” this, he said, is a covenant between God and man, adding anything they invest in this year will yield good result.
