Contrary to earlier announcement that the Greater Accra Regional GPRTU will go on strike over the increasing prices of fuel, its business as usual at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
GBC’s Augustus Acquaye visited the Neoplan Station at Circle early this morning, where he interacted with an Executive Member at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Station, William Abekah Mensah, who said the GPRTU received the information last night that the strike had been called off.
”We were told about the strike, but last night they called us and said no strike,” he noted.
Some of the drivers and passengers had this to say.
” We are working, no strike, we heard it yesterday.”
”We all are working.”
”They said last week, but postponed it and now we don’t see any strike”, they noted.
Kaneshie on strike
But some Drivers at Kaneshie Station were on strike, according to our reporter, early this morning.
Tamale strike called off
Meanwhile, Murtala Issah reports from Tamale that the strike had been called off in the Northern Region.
