Reports reaching GBC’s Radio Ghana indicate that there is commotion at the Sowutuom Adu Gyamfi School NIA registration centre for the Ghana Card.
Some of the residents complained about queuing since last night only to be informed this morning of the unavailability of registration papers until mid-day.
They also complained of jumping of queues resulting in confrontations, thereby halting the start of the registration. The residents are therefore appealing to the Sowutuom Police to intervene to restore law and order for the registration to progress.
In reaction, the Police in Sowutuom say some personnel will be deployed to restore calm to the centre.
Meanwhile, attempts to reach officials of the NIA for a response on the alleged delay and shortage of registration forms have proven futile.
