Communities in North East submerged by floodwaters following collapse of two Dams

More than thousand residents in West Mamprusi and East Mamprusi Municipalities in the North East Region have been displaced by floods.

Several houses have also collapsed.

Properties including personal effects, household items, stored food such as Maize worth millions of cedis have been destroyed.

No human casualty has been recorded, but some livestock are reportedly dead.

Preliminary investigation points to overflow of the Guabuluga Dam and Diani river.
