The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), in collaboration with MTA International, is organising a training session for staff to enhance content creation for broadcast and online distribution.

The five-day workshop is expected to train persons involved with the creative and daily production of scheduled and featured programs, train participants to produce overall improved presentation on digital platforms as well as show how GBC can aspire to become a high-end broadcaster.

Deputy Director-General, Eng. Augustus Yamson, in his opening remarks, underscored the importance of content production.

“In this digital era, we are no more arguing that I have the reach, I have good pictures. We are all on the same platform and coverage area but what will make the difference is the content.”

“How are you coming out with your content? What content are you producing that will attract the viewers to stick to your television channel?”

He added that the workshop will help enrich trainees and the State broadcaster.

The MTA International trainer, Mr. Hanif Khan, who addressed participants during the opening ceremony said the focus of part of the workshop is to build social values and win hearts.

“In this world now, many people talk about social value. And again this is the training in which you’ll get that social value is worth more than the actual physical exchange of what you get from the money. Your investment is worth a lot more not just in what you get from our training and what we get from the broadcast but we win your hearts and you win our hearts. You can’t put a price on that.”
