Coronavirus: Adhere to preventive measures- VEEP Bawumia

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has asked Ghanaians to adhere to the preventive measures prescribed by the Ghana Health Service on the coronavirus.

He noted that even though Ghana has not recorded a case, it is important to eschew the habit of shaking hands frequently as a preventive measure against contracting the corona virus since symptoms are not always visible.

Dr. Bawumia also advised the public to wash their hands frequently with soap under running water and not to touch their eyes, mouth and nose with unwashed hands.

Vice President Dr. Bawumia gave the advice at the 100 centenary Anniversary of the Suhum Presby Model Cluster of Schools at Suhum in the Eastern Region.

Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia noted that the core development of the country does not depend on the country’s natural resources but rather human resources.

It is on this backdrop that President Akufo-Addo has invested more than twenty billion Ghana cedis in the Education Sector.

He advised pupils of the School to be focused, disciplined and respectful.

The Immediate past Chief Justice, Justice Sophia Akuffo, who is an old student of the school, charged the youth to prioritise their education in order to excel in life.

The Headmistress of the School, Mabel Opare Addo, asked the Vice President to assist the school improve its infrastructural deficit.
